Our School Day

We welcome the children into school each day via the main front gate. A member of SLT is on the gate to support children, speak to parents or just wish our school family a lovely day!

Children are able to access their classrooms from 8:40amy and each class starts their day with a range of activities from 'The Good Morning Club'. Parents are welcome to take their children round to classrooms but please remember it is a busy part of the day and would always encourage parents to arrange to speak/meet with teacher's if there is something specific they wish to discuss. 

• School starts each day at 8.50am.
• Assembly is at 9.45am
• Break Time: 10.45 - 11.00 am
• Lunch Break: 12.15 - 1.15 pm
• School finishes at: 3.15 pm

At the end of the school day children will exit their classrooms either from the Lower School side (Years 3 & 4) or Upper School side (Years 5 & 6). 

A member of SLT will open the main front gate from 3.10pm to allow parents to collect their children from classrooms. 

We will always keep children in classrooms until we know how they are to go home.  Please make sure that you make your child aware of collection arrangements before they leave in the morning.

If your child is in Y5 or Y6, please complete ARBOR to update your permissions stating if they are allowed to walk home on their own. 

If your child attends 'Kidzclub', then they are collected from the front of school. 

We have a 'no phone' policy at CBJS and Y5/Y6 children must hand them into the school office at the start of the day and can collect them once they have been released from their classroom at 3.15pm. Phones must be turned off for the duration of the day whilst they are securely locked away. 

Please note that the School Office is open from 8.30am until 3.30pm and is administered by Mrs Thomas.  If for any reason the phone is not answered, please leave a message and someone will return your call as soon as they can.
