Student Leadership
These opportunities enable children to share their ideas, represent their peers and contribute to school improvement, while developing important skills in communication, teamwork and decision-making.
By taking on leadership roles, pupils embody our SHINE values every day, acting as positive role models and inspiring others to succeed, contribute and thrive within our school community.
House Captains
We have 3 houses across our 2 schools Ruby, Emerald and Sapphire. All our children are allocated a house for the duration of their time at our two schools. Siblings are placed in the same house and all children are encouraged to participate in house events across the school year. Each September, each house votes for 2 House Captains who lead for the year. Our House Captains are positive role models who lead by example, encouraging teamwork, participation and school spirit within their houses. They help organise events, support younger pupils and demonstrate our SHINE values through their leadership and commitment to the school community.School Council
The School Council provides pupils with a voice and an opportunity to help shape school life. Council members represent their classmates, share ideas and work collaboratively to bring about positive change, promoting responsibility, respect and active citizenship in line with our SHINE values.
School Captains are selected for each class through class votes at the start of term.School Ambassadors
Each year, two children from our Year 6 cohort are selected to be our CBJS School Ambassadors. Our School Ambassadors proudly represent the school at events and welcome visitors to our community. They demonstrate confidence, kindness and professionalism, helping to showcase our SHINE values while supporting pupils, families and guests with enthusiasm and pride.
